Who we are and what we do?

 

Beyond Birth Living library started as a Chelsea and Westminster Hospital National Health Service Foundation Trust Quality Improvement initiative to support the wellbeing of parents, who have experienced unexpected birth challenges through tailored peer support. In 2023, NHS London Maternity Clinical Network offered funding to enable its expansion across London. This fixed term funding provides remuneration to Service Users Voice team members offering programme management support to develop an operational framework for London.

Your personal data is collected when you share this data with us, and this forms the main way in which we collect your personal data.

  • You want us to provide you with more information or peer support

  • You sign up to receive emails or newsletters from us

What personal data does Beyond Birth Living Library collect?

 

Personal data is any information that can be used to identify you. With your explicit permission, we will store the following personal data:

  • Your date of birth

  • Your contact details (including postal address, telephone number, email address and or social media identifier)

  • Ethnicity

  • If applicable, your identifiers to help with Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certification

  • If applicable, personal identifier of your personal referees

How we use your personal data will depend on how you interact with the Beyond Birth Living Library.

 

The data collected and its lawful processing will be in keeping with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as it applies in the United Kingdom. The Beyond Birth Living library librarian/coordinator will be your “Data Controller” and will therefore keep your personal data safe and secure.

The Beyond Birth Living library is governed by the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust data protection policy. All NHS staff members undertake data protection awareness training.

 

We will regularly review the effectiveness of our data handling and security measures.

 

 

Who do we share your personal data with?

 

The Beyond Birth Living library will only share your data when we have a need to do so and only with your explicit permission. We will never share or sell your information to a third party.

 

We will protect your personal information, from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no internet-based site can be 100% secure and so we cannot be held responsible for unauthorised or unintended access that is beyond our control.
